Dr Mohamed Alameri works at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) as Section Head of Studies and Special Projects. He has an impressive background in science, having received a Bachelors, Masters and a Doctorate focusing on genetics and cell and gene therapy. His current role is centred around genomic advancements within the DoH, including assisting within the incredible Emirati Genome Programme.

Dr Mohamed began his career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. There, he had a hands-on role, and gained a wealth of experience in the lab contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients. While finishing his PhD, Dr Mohamed worked as a part-time teacher for cell and gene therapy at University College London. Dr Mohamed is passionate about the possibilities of genomic sequencing, and how technology can be harnessed within the healthcare system to develop a dynamic genomic ecosystem and reshape the future of health.
